Nothing says glowing skin like a H20! Rachel Nazarian, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist states that “Without adequate water intake, skin appears duller, and wrinkles and pores more prominent.” That may be because water plumps up the skin, causing wrinkles and pores to, more or less, get filled in.
Bonus: When skin is hydrated, plump, and elastic, it’s less likely to crack and let in external particles that can cause irritations and blemishes.
“I’ve even found that my patients tend to complain of more acne lesions when they’re dehydrated,” says Nazarian. “We know that small changes in diet can affect the type of oil and sebum that your skin makes, which we know, in turn, can be associated with an increase in acne formation. Dehydration may work the same way to trigger these changes in the oil glands in the skin.”
So when we say "CHUG!, CHUG! CHUG!" we are referring to water! Drank up! :)
Rule #1: Cant touch this!
Okay, yes I know.... it's there! It's bothering you... you want IT gone... What's IT? That dreadful pimple, blackhead, or hair bump! Or have you found yourself resting your chin or cheeks on your hand? My biggest pet peeve is seeing someone TOUCH THIER FACE! Yes, I know it's yours, lol; however, its NOT the best! Let me explain.. *clears throat*.. Between turning door knobs, squeezing gas pumps, punching in pin numbers.. our hands come into contact with so many germs on a daily basis. Acne is caused by the confluence three factors: excess oil, excess skin shedding and p. acnes bacteria,” said Dr. Shamban. “What touching can do is spread existing p. acnes — the culprit behind red inflammatory acne papules, pustules and cysts — on the surface and beneath the surface of the skin. Beneath the skin is where it does the most damage because it can spread to other pores and manifest in yet another pimple.” We all know that picking at those painful pimples can lead to scarring. Before washing, applying moisturizer or anything to your face, be sure to wash your in lukewarm water for at least 30 seconds with soap to help eliminate any chances for transferring any germs or bacteria to your face. Until next time...xoxo!
